Truth Be Told 8.5 - Where is Adam ? -2

The Quality of A Man of God

The greatest want of the world is the want of men men who will not be bought or sold , men who in their inmost souls are true and honest , men who do not fear to call sin by its right name , men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall. fall. Ed 57.3.
But such a character is not the result of accident; it is not due to special favors or endowments of Providence. A noble character is the result of self discipline , of the subjection of the lower to the higher nature the surrender of self for the service of love to God and man . Ed 57.4.

The Shattered Home to Be Unified

Malachi 4: 4-6

4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, [with] the statutes and judgments.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers , lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

A Prophecy Fulfilled for Family Restoration

Luke 1: 13-17.
13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb .
16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children , and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Quote - The Head of the Family Firm.
The husband and father is the head of the household . The wife looks to him for love and sympathy and for aid in the training of the children ; and this is right. The children are his as well as hers , and he is equally interested in their welfare .
The children look to the father for support and guidance ; he needs to have a right conception of life and of the influences and associations that should surround his family ; above all, he should be controlled by the love and fear of God and by the teaching of His word, that he may guide the feet of his children in the right way. . . . AH 211.4.
The father should do his part toward making home happy. Whatever his cares and business perplexities, they should not be permitted to overshadow his family ; he should enter his home with smiles and pleasant words . AH 211.5.

The Lawmaker and Priest

All members of the family center in the father . He is the lawmaker , illustrating in his own manly bearing the sterner virtues : energy, integrity, honesty, patience, courage, diligence, and practical usefulness .

The father is in one sense the priest of the household , laying upon the altar of God the morning and evening sacrifice. The wife and children should be encouraged to unite in this offering and also to engage in the song of praise. Morning and evening the father, as priest of the household, should confess to God the sins committed by himself and his children through the day.

Present But Absent - A Quick word of Counsel

Do not allow the vexations of your business to bring darkness into your home life . If, when little things occur that are not exactly as you think they should be, you fail to reveal patience, long forbearance, kindness, and love, you show that you have not chosen as a companion Him who so loved you that He gave His life for you, that you might be one with Him .

In the daily life you will meet with sudden surprises, disappointments, and temptations. What saith the word? "Resist the devil," by firm reliance upon God, "and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you." AH 214.1.

Function By Defination - Husband (G435)

  • Male
  • Betrothed
  • To distinguish an adult man from a boy ( manliness)

Quote - MAN’s role as Husband.
The husband is the house-band of the home treasures, binding by his strong, earnest, devoted af fection the members of the household, mother and children, together in the strongest bonds of union. His name, "house-band," is the true def inition of husband. . . . I saw that but few fathers real ize their responsibility. AH 211.2.

No Mixed Signals

A woman, wife and mother can NEVER perform the role of a man, husband and father and vice versa and should NEVER be praised as so doing. To do so is an abomination. In the unfortunate absence of either God fills the gap if given the opportunity.

The Call for Revival

Joel 2: 15-17.
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion , sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly :
16 Gather the people , sanctify the congregation , assemble the elders , gather the children , and those that suck the breasts : let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar , and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where [is] their God?

MANdate Given

Ephesians 4: 11-15.
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints , for the work of the ministry , for the edifying of the body of Christ :
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith , and of the knowledge of the Son of God , unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ :
14 That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro , and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, [even] Christ:

The Two Adams

As the ransomed ones are welcomed to the City of God, there rings out upon the air an exultant cry of adoration. The two Adams are about to meet . The Son of God is standing with outstretched arms to receive the father of our race the being whom He created, who sinned against his Maker, and for whose sin the marks of the crucifixion are borne upon the Saviour's form.

As Adam discerns the prints of the cruel nails, he does not fall upon the bosom of his Lord, but in humiliation casts himself at His feet, crying: "Worthy, worthy is the Lamb that was slain!" Tenderly the Saviour lifts him up and bids him look once more upon the Eden home from which he has so long been exiled.

After his expulsion from Eden, Adam's life on earth was filled with sorrow . Every dying leaf, every victim of sacrifice, every blight upon the fair face of nature, every stain upon man's purity, was a fresh reminder of his sin. Terrible was the agony of remorse as he beheld iniquity abounding, and, in answer to his warnings, met the reproaches cast upon himself as the cause of sin.

With patient humility he bore, for nearly a thousand years, the penalty of transgression. Faithfully did he repent of his sin and trust in the merits of the promised Saviour , and he died in the hope of a resurrection. The Son of God redeemed man's failure and fall; and [ now, through the work of the atonement, Adam is reinstated in his first dominion.

Where Is Adam?

By Faith Adam is no more in hiding, but is restored by and through the Precious Blood of our living Saviour Jesus Christ Son of the One True God.

Amen.
