BLM - Building Lively Minds

The first resource that must be developed is the mind. We can protest we can riot, burn buildings, cars. Success depends on the state of the mind.

Philippians 2: 3-5

3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

BLM - Black Lives Matter

Black Lives Matter, have taken to the streets, with rioting and protest. We are indeed hurt and disgusted by the atrocities that have taken place in what is supposed to be a civilized society. As a Christian how do I navigate this labyrinth of social and economic woes, with covid-19 still knocking at the door.

And yet the question remains, how will we get the results we want with the resources we do not have.

A Sound Mind

The first resource that must be developed is the mind. We can protest we can riot, burn buildings, cars. Success depends on the state of the mind. And the greatest mind of all time is still Jesus Christ. Jesus stood for principles that was thought to be radical, truth that brought criticism from all corners. Were they new ideas, actually, no. They were obscure and forgotten and so men lived as if they did not exist. Could that explain our present dilemma.

Did Jesus form a group to confront the wickedness as a result of ignorance, arrogance and apathy that existed, yes! What was the first thing Jesus did for this small group, his disciples, he educated them. He first developed their minds, because its where every war that is to be mounted must start. The quality of the education that they received was one that transformed them from the inside out. Jesus first taught them, and every resource that was needed for their work they received when it was needed. If we remain in ignorance, even if we have all our hearts desire our position in this life will not change.

Stand on Principle

If you are going to stand for something you must first stand on principles that can survive the test of time. You must stand on principles that can survive generations. Men that rely on policies cannot be trusted, only those who stand on principle. Jesus stood on the Word of God, his Father. If we must march for racial equality we must be found standing on Biblical principles that are above reproach. What are the principles that BLM are standing on. As a Christian the Bible and the Bible alone possesses the principles on which we must make our stand. The proof of the pudding, is in the eating. Men have tried to destroy the Bible and it has stood the test of time. It has withstood monarchs, kings and queens, presidents and prime ministers.

If we choose to stand on Biblical principle we must understand them. The better we understand the Biblical principles the more we grow the better we will become. We did not move from the wright glider to the Concorde because men could bend the principles of flight but because men gained a better understanding of the principles of flight. Thus their work and efforts have withstood the the test of time.

The Wonderful Nature of God's Word

A better understanding of God’s Word will equip us to meet any emergency that life can throw at us, even the racial killings, economic struggles or covid-19. As a Christian we can rest assured that BLM will not stand the test of time if it does not stand on the principles of the Bible.

Dead ancestors cannot help us, the Bible tells us that the dead knows nothing and there is nothing more for them under the sun. - Ecclesiastes 9:3-6

All inclusiveness and a liberal mind without restraint, is not the fruits of success but will propagate the same evils that it is currently proposing to oppose. A mind governed by the Biblical principles, a mind that is illuminated by the words of truth and righteousness will be the only way to combat the evil of men.

When the results, that BLM are confident they can produce, doesn’t materialize, what will happen to the millions of followers and young minds that are now being absorbed.

Our Lord and Savior

Jesus Christ, though the Son of God, came to this world as a servant. Is the well being of the brother or sister next to us important. Are we willing to serve each other in humility and love. Are we willing to share what we have to bless others. How can we expect those against us, to do for us, what we are not willing to do for each other, how? What is the spirit governing in this time? When the hype, is over, what then? What is the greatest need? Do we even know?

It is only through the Spirit of Christ that we can be unselfish, understand where we are in this life, know what our greatest need is and find peace and joy. There is no other way. So, wherever our fight is we must be led by Christ’s Spirit.

Prove all things!

As a Christian prove all things, never be quick to join what you don’t understand. All lofty ideas are not always laid in truth or honesty. And if you love your Lord, then his principles must govern your life no matter what the crowd thinks or does. Jesus was never influenced by the majority, but by the truth. May the truth of God’s word lead and guide you through this time.

Let the mind of Christ be in you.
